The Last Shot: Amusing charade, empowered by a real tale, telling the story of an FBI man (Baldwin) who makes believe to produce a film so he can trap a mobster with ties to the Teamsters union. Baldwin starts to like his “role” as a movie producer, as he turns his idea into reality. Cast includes Matthew Broderick, Alec Baldwin, Toni Collette, Tony Shalhoub, Calista Flockhart, Tim Blake Nelson, Buck Henry, Ray Liotta, James Rebhorn, Jon Polito, and Pat Morita. Walk The Line: This film tells the life story of famed country singer Johnny Cash. His battles with alcohol and subsequent resurrection are both chronicled. His life runs the gamut of emotions, from despair to exaltation.

Rollerball: Careless Klein follows his high school football teammate (LL Cool J) to a Middle Eastern nation to play roller ball. The film only comes to life near the end with some good songs, containing one by Spade Cooley. Cast includes Chris Klein, Jean Reno, LL Cool J, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Naveen Andrews, Oleg Taktarov, David Hemblen, and Paul Heyman. (98 minutes, 2002)

12 Monkeys: The year is 2035 and the human race has been nearly demolished. Only about 1% of the population has survived, and life on the surface of the planet is impossible. Scientists now send a reluctant man back in time, to try and stop the whole sequence of events before they get started.

Unfaithful: Edward and Connie Summer have what seems to be an idyllic marriage. There life is good but somewhat becoming routine. Then a chance meeting leads Connie into an unexpected affair. When Edward learns of the affair, his rage is beyond control.

Stacy’s Knights: Millian is Basic Jane hit with blackjack betting fever who initiates a team of sharpies to crack a casino after her youthful mentor Costner is slaughtered by the casino’s goons. Boring B-film offers observation into the planet of virtuoso wagering and characteristics a flavorful behavior by Costner in his first leading role. Wilson and screenwriter Michael Blake later re-teamed with Costner to make Dances With Wolves. Cast includes Andra Millian, Kevin Costner, Eve Lilith, Mike Reynolds, Garth Howard, and Ed Semenza. (95 minutes, 1983)

Good Night And Good Luck: Lucid dramatization of newscaster Edward R. Murrow’s groundbreaking on-the-air altercation with Commie-seeking Senator Joseph R. McCarthy in the 1950s. Knowledgeable production layout by Jim Bissell, cinematography Robert Elswit, and revising Stephen Mirrione combine with pitch-exact behaviors to make us feel like a soar on the fence as CBS TV reporters discuss, talk, carouse, and set history-making TV designs on the air. Strathaim is brilliant as Murrow; McCarthy “plays” himself in vintage kinescope footage. Cast includes David Strathaim, Patricia Clarkson, George Clooney, Jeff Daniels, Robert Downey, Jr., Tate Donovan, and Alex Borstein. (93 minutes, 2005)
